Smoothie Paradise
You know how I feel about raw food. I've been slowly trying to integrate it into my diet. I've found that one of the best ways to get a lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet is smoothies. Well, I think I may have stumbled across smoothie nirvana.
The thing I love about smoothie is that you can tailor it to your needs. Load it up with blueberries if you're concerned with anti-aging. Trying to strengthen your bones? Zero in on Vitamina D and calcium. If you have arthritis, toss in some MSM or hyaluronic acid. Heart health? Then an ounce of flax oil.
This recipe can be considered anti-aging as soy has a plethora of phytoestrogens--genistein and daidzein. These phytoestrogens are believed to block the formation of tumors. Diets high in soy also minimize the symptoms of menopause. For centuries Japanese woman have had the benefit of minimal menopause symptoms because of soy. Enough chemistry 101. The bonus is there's only 247 calories in this recipe and 48 grams of carbohydrates.
