I just love the smell of fresh ground coffee and the taste of chocolate. Well, who doesn’t? I read somewhere that chocolate comes from cocoa, which is a tree, that makes it a plant. Therefore, chocolate counts as salad. I rest my case :)
Besides the great, unique taste, cocoa has a lot of benefits for internal and skin health. It contains many antioxidants that fight free radicals and has rejuvenation and anti-aging properties.
In its raw state, cocoa has more compounds that lead to the wellbeing of the body: arginine is a natural aphrodisiac, anandamide is a substance that causes a state of euphoria, tryptophan serves as an antidepressant. It also contains neurotransmitters that stimulate and balance the brain activity.
Epicatecina-galato, a compound found in cocoa, actually a flavanol, helps to increase the relaxation capacity of the blood vessels. It is also found in red wine, green tea and grapefruit juice, all of them recommended for preventing heart disease and keeping cholesterol under control. Also, cocoa is rich in magnesium, which helps the heart to pump blood more efficiently, strengthens bones and lowers blood pressure. Maybe because of magnesium, a mineral with calming properties, craving for chocolate is so common among women on their period.
Coffee is also good for your skin: it is a source of antioxidants as well; soothes the skin and brings back its glance; protects against sun rays; increases blood circulation.
What You’ll Need:
- 4 tablespoons ground coffee
- 4 tablespoons raw cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 8 tablespoons whole milk
1. Use a bowl to combine the cocoa powder and coffee.
2. Pour the milk and mix well, then add the honey and mix again until well combined.
3. Apply the mixture to your skin and neck.
4. Leave it to dry.
