I’ve been hearing a lot about coconut oil and how good it is for you. The buzz is that it makes a great cooking oil and is really moisturizing. In truth, coconut oil is one of the few saturated fats that comes from a plant. Most saturated fats come from an animal source. Coconut oil also contains lauric acid which has antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties.

There’s a school of thought that says you should clean your face and leave it bare of treatments while you sleep. I’m sure this works for some people at some stage in life, but not for those of us concerned with antiaging. Bedtime is prime time to get things done on your skin. A good skin serum, with regular use, can aid the natural processes that occur while you sleep. With serums, you’ll see results faster.

Why don't young people have wrinkles? Mostly because they have more facial fat, no sun damage, and gravity hasn't taken its toll. As we age, laugh lines appear around the mouth and eyes. Sometimes sleep lines, the temporary marks that appear after sleeping on a pillow, become permanent. Areas that are exposed to the sun may develop brown patches known as age spots or liver spots. Over time, the skin gradually loses its layer of subcutaneous fat, and skin can take on a gaunt appearance. This is why just cleansing your skin isn't enough.
