Of course I’m making resolutions about my diet for the New Year. I’ve been dabbling with raw food, but I want to be totally raw before the end of 2008. I know some people do it in 30 days, but I can’t walk away from a lifetime of southern cooking that fast. They haven’t invented that 10 step program as far as I know.
I’m looking at my diet as a whole, and one of the things I want to incorporate is more essential fatty acids. I think that's the culprit behind my dry skin and hair. I was looking for a good replacement for those granola bars you get from the supermarket--they're basically just candy. Nail Salon As Man Cave?!
A recent experience at the nail salon has made me a little uncomfortable. Here's what happened. I was getting a manicure and this young guy came in. I thought he must be there to pick up his girlfriend, but he was there to get his nails done too. There was another guy there who was actually waiting on his girlfriend. The two of them struck up a conversation. Male bonding in the nail shop—so millennial. The guy getting his nails done didn't seem self conscious at all.
