Moisturizing Oily Skin

All skin needs hydration, but when you have oily skin you naturally look for products to dry it up. Unfortunately, many products that dry up the oil are harsh and you end up with sensitive skin that has pimples. The key is to find the right products for your skin.
Most skin care products for oily skin have a lot of alcohol in them—specifically SD40 alcohol—which strips the acid mantle from the skin, is very drying, and often kicks the sebaceous glands into overdrive so they produce even more oil. You need products which will hydrate the skin without using oils (especially mineral oil) and that don’t contain alcohol.
A green clay mask helps clear out excess oil. Blend 1 teaspoon of green clay with 1 teaspoon of raw honey. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eyes. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes, and rinse. This mask is gentle and can be done three times a week or more.
You may find that by increasing your intake of certain supplements, herbs, and fatty acids will improve the look of your skin—
* Flaxseed oil is an essential fatty acid that will help your skin remain balanced.
* Primrose Oil is a healer for many skin disorders and contains linoleic acid, which is needed for healthy skin.
* Kelp (seaweed) supplies the minerals your skin needs to maintain good tone.
Devita products have a great reputation and of course their product line is all natural. I had a facial once while I was on vacation at the hotel spa and they used Devita products. Ever since, Devita has been on my short list of go-to products.
If you haven’t used Devita before and wonder if it will work for you, check out their Try-Me Kit for oily skin that’s very inexpensive and gives you a little of everything—
* Aloe Vera Moisture Cleanser, 1 oz.
* Moroccan Rose Facial Toner, 1 oz.
* Gentle Aloe Facial Scrub, 1 oz.
* High Performance AHA, 1/8 oz.
* Daily Solar Protective Moisturizer 30, 1/4 oz.
* Daytime Nutritional Moisturizer, 1/4 oz.
* Italian Tomato Leaf Mud Masque, 1/4 oz.
Remember, even oily skin needs to be moisturized. The goal is to normalize your skin, so you need products that will control the oil without drying out your skin.
