Licorice, Root Beer, and Natural Skin Care
Lately my two most hated flavors—that would be licorice and root beer—have been repeatedly turning up in my life. I reach for something I think is grape flavored and it’s licorice. I taste something that’s supposed to be cola and it’s root bear. When things happen over and over, I tend to think it’s no accident. So, I decided to do a little research and see what the fates are trying to tell me about this dynamic, albeit despised, duo.





Canker sores are those pesky white ulcers that form inside your mouth. While not dangerous, they can be painful and make things like eating, drinking and talking a lot harder to do. Unlike cold sores that form on the lips and skin around the mouth, canker sores aren’t caused by a virus. In fact, doctors really don’t know what the exact cause of these sores is.
Remember Alfalfa and Spanky from the Our Gang comedies? In one episode called Mush and Milk the gang lived at an orphanage, and everyday they had mush for breakfast. The caretaker promised that when he received his back pension he would treat them to a fine meal. Finally, the day comes and he treats them to an expensive meal at a French restaurant. Not understanding French, they order a delicious sounding meal and when it’s served, voilà . . . mush.
